End-of-Year To-Do List: Make Summer Smooth with LINQ Connect

As we close out another school year (and dream of sunscreen, snacks, and sleeping in), it’s time to wrap things up in LINQ Connect and get set for a smooth summer – and an even smoother fall.

Here’s what families should do before the final bell rings:

1. Check and Clear Meal Account Balances

Avoid last-week surprises by making sure your student’s account isn’t sitting in the red – or overflowing with leftover funds.

  • Low or Negative Balance? Top off now so admin and staff aren’t chasing students for lunch money.
  • Positive Balance? Good news! It will carry over to next year, but can also be transferred to a sibling, or be eligible for a refund. Check with your district for details.

Graduating Senior? Here’s the Deal. If your student is walking the stage and tossing the cap, now’s the time to close the loop on their meal account. Check for leftover funds and talk to your district about:

  • Requesting a refund
  • Donating the balance to help cover meals for other students
  • Transferring funds to a sibling still in school

Because that last slice of pizza shouldn’t come with leftover dollars.

2. Set Up or Adjust Auto Pay

If you’ve been using Auto Pay, great! If not, now’s your chance to set it and forget it for next year.

Pro Tip: Set a low-balance threshold that automatically refills the account before it hits zero.

3. Review and Wrap Up Fee Payments

Have any end-of-year field trips, tech fees, or graduation gowns hanging out unpaid? Handle those now so you can head into summer stress-free.

4. Download the App (and Share with Family!)

If you haven’t grabbed the LINQ Connect app yet – do it! It makes managing meals and payments a breeze.

Bonus: Other family members – like grandparents, aunts, uncles, or even older siblings – can also download the app and contribute to your student’s meal account. Just have them create an account, link to your student, and add funds whenever they’d like. Because it takes a village – and sometimes a backup snack fund.

5. Check for End-of-Year Messages or Announcements

Check the LINQ Connect app for any messages or alerts your school or district sent about wrapping up the school year. It’s an easy way to make sure you’re in the loop.

6. Get Ready for Next Year – Without the Back-to-School Scramble

Start the next school year like a pro – Auto Pay ready, balances in the green, and everything squared away before supply lists hit your inbox.
